Sean
Tyler Double CD Released June 2003 Just
Popped Out + Redneck In Babylon
Released as a double package, these were the first two Sean
Tyla solo albums released after the demise of the Tyla Gang. Whilst both
albums retained the Sean Tyla boogie rock feel, they also contained a
number of softer more commercial recordings.
Both albums were recorded at the Who’s Ramport studio in
association with engineer Mark Dodson.
Just Popped Out gave Sean his first hit single with Breakfast
In Marin which reached number 7 in Germany, 71 in USA and hit the
top thirty in Italy, Switzerland, Austria and Sweden. The accompanying
video was produced by ex Monkee Michael Nesmith.
Just Popped Out hit the charts at No 98 in USA, 4 in
Austria, 17 in Germany, 14 in Italy, 9 in Switzerland and 11 in Sweden.
Redneck In Babylon spawned two hit singles, Landing
Lights got to n. 21 in Germany and 17 in Sweden, whilst Pink Café
got to no 2 in Italy.
The album Redneck In Babylon got to no 22 in Germany,
no 6 in Italy and also made the top 40 in Switzerland, Austria and
Sweden. This two album set features notes by Sean Tyla plus all the
lyrics.
Tyla
Gang Moonproof released June 2003
Moonproof
was the second Tyla Gang album and musically it falls between the
boogie riffs of Yachtless and the more AOR of Just Popped
Out and Redneck In Babylon.
The
album was originally released in Spring 1978 when the Tyla Gang were
probably at their peak and charted in Sweden at 31 and Germany at 60.
This
release features two previously unreleased bonus tracks, a rendition of
Barry McGuire’s Eve Of Destruction and the fabulous Hearts,
Knights, Lovers In Trouble.
